Communal

Healthy individuals create healthy communities. Dav has been engaged in community capacity building for over 30 years. His work included the establishment of hi-tech training for inner city residents, development of community business associations, multi-cultural childcare facilities, education and training facilities and most recently, the development of self-sustaining holistic health and wellbeing resource centres.

Stress, anxiety and depression have exploded across many communities, leading illness, disease, economic inactivity and even death by suicide. Motivated my the need in the communities, Dav has been leading weekly free right mindfulness sessions in the West Midlands since 2000. He has introduced MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction), MBCT (mindfulness based cognitive therapy), and MBi (mindfulness based interventions) as health based intervention to thousands of individuals, providing them with expertise, practical guidance, support and enabling the development of self-supporting meditation groups.

Many of the mindfulness and transpersonal courses have been modified to include religious and cultural sensitives, and have been delivered in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.

Dav has been engaged in community development for over 30 years. His ground-breaking work on community development plan in 1997 laid the foundational path for the development of community capacity in the Sikh community UK.

Dav was instrumental in developing and delivering a range of NVQ programs aimed at enabling disadvantaged groups to access employment, education and communal resources. His achievements were significant enough to be recognized by the local and national governments, winning him accolades including invitation to HRH Queen’s Garden party.
